Serendipity

ser·en·dip·i·ty/ˌserənˈdipədē/

noun

It's also a movie I've never seen and a restaurant in NYC that I've only been to once because it was on a dying friends bucket list.

Serendipity... serendipity... I love saying and hearing the word and on top of what it means... it's actually one of my favorite words.

In my everyday day to day life and in some of my travel adventures I have met some of the most remarkable people and seen some amazing views and had sublime experiences sometimes under the most clandestine (another favorite word) circumstances.

clan·des·tine/klanˈdestən,ˈklandesˌtīn/

adjective
  1. kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit.

I'm bringing all of this up because I've been thinking and mulling over some of my more memorable clandestine serendipitous adventures... possibly because of all the musing I have had vivid dreams about someone I miss every day but rarely dream about because we once said to each other "if you ever need me I'll see  you in your dreams"... I don't know the questions or the answers at this point but it usually always boils down to this...

These dreams always have the same effect on me in that I feel like...

and waving goodbye to everyday concerns for a short time while I get everything sorted...

I've always called it a mental health day... and think it's important to take one or two of them whenever necessary (if you have to take more than a few a year you might want to talk to someone about the issues... but that is only my opinion)

The word serendipity always reminds me of one of my favorite movies... "The Young Girls Of Rochefort"... if you have not seen it I can't recommend it highly enough...

It's one of the most delightful movies I have ever seen with Catherine Deneuve and her sister Francoise Dorleac playing sisters looking for love in a charming seaside village and dreaming of romance and success in Paris... what the movie shows us is that love and success could be just around the corner from where we are and one misstep or wrong turn and we might miss it... but in the end we find that everything happens the way it was supposed to... The movie also stars Gene Kelly and Grover Dale.

So with all of this I'm keeping things short and sweet this week and taking next week off because I have too much on my plate to do justice to everything... So when we meet up here again I'll either be taking us on a trip down Route 66 or Israel or maybe talk about clothing and style again. I just can't decide right now but rest assured we will be covering all of this in the not too distant future.

Be well and remember...

Edit 22, March 2018---

I will sometimes go around the block or take another train to avoid an unnecessary confrontation but sometimes you just have to go to the mat... I had to remind someone that weak people use rudeness as an imitation of strength... and

But I'm still taking next week off to deal with work and life... see you in a couple of weeks!
