Thanks For The Memories!

I'm going to be keeping things short and sweet this week... Let me start by first saying thank you to all of you who follow or subscribe to Always In Fashion. I can't believe how time flies and it's been a year since I started this project. It's been a wonderful experience and based on some of the feedback I've gotten from a few of you I'm happy that you have found it thoughtful, entertaining and enjoyable to read.

I had something all together different planned to write about  this week but someone told me they thought I had reached my first year milestone...  but because of computer and technical problems with the internet and my wireless connection I was only able to log on a few minutes ago and see that it has been in fact a year...

Quite a lot has happened this year in our world and all of our lives--- some happy new memories, some sad and some forgettable but in all of it... I've found my voice with this and in my career again and have been quite busy... if you have been reading from the beginning I discussed loosing a beloved Courreges shirt from Paris some years ago... guess what? I found almost an identical one in a thrift shop in mint condition and it actually is my size... I'm not sure I'll ever wear it because it's vintage and I'm not sure how strong cotton voile is after this many years (I tend to be hard on clothes and shoes)... but because I turned it inside out and saw exactly how it was cut and tailored I feel fairly certain I can recreate it in the fabric and color I want... but perhaps most importantly this writing project has reminded me of things I had forgotten or were lost to time and I've discovered or rediscovered a few things in myself I did not even know were part of me... and I have again an almost breathless anticipation for the future...but I'm loving living in the here and now.

There are still a lot of places I want to go with this in the next year so I hope you will continue to read... but I would love to hear a bit more feedback from you... so leave a comment or send me an e-mail. It's a big wide world out there and I love that people are reading on every continent.

Time does fly and I can't believe it's been 15 years since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93... That was a day in history that  forever changed the world in my opinion but my view of myself and the world will never be the same because of the events that day. It was and still is a very emotional day for me and I really doubt that I will ever write anything more in-depth than this... My entire life has been a lesson in surviving one thing or another but the last fifteen years have really been a lesson in learning how to live again and take chances and believe in myself and all the possibilities the world has to offer. One of the major turning points for me in the days following while I was dealing with the disbelief  of the horror of the whole situation and grieving the loss of a few friends  were the telephone calls I received from people who wanted to make sure I was OK (I was scheduled on a United Flight that day)... and on the flip side the people I did not hear from... it was a real revelation of who my real friends were and who were merely acquaintances.

So do whatever you need to do in life to keep the flame burning in your soul that inspires you to go forward and achieve what at times seems impossible whether it's finding something you treasure or helping secure world peace and everything in between.

Thank you again... I hope you will be back next week because we are going dancing!

Me ke aloha!
