Beauty Secrets

I said in a previous chapter here that I have been using Erno Laszlo's special soaps and lotions since I was a teenager... and I'll now share that I've been using La Mer moisturizer  for a little over 20 years... There are oodles of soaps and treatments that vary in price from affordable to outrageous... The trick is finding the ones that work best for you and your lifestyle

What you need to understand is that there is no miracle treatment that is going to turn back the hands of time and make you young again. The best you can hope for is finding products that clean your skin, revitalize it and diminish in my case dryness (some people need to deal with oily skin and in some cases combination skin) and most importantly slow any further aging or skin damage. Truth be told the best thing you can do for yourself is on a daily basis drink plenty of water and get out in the sunshine and fresh air. I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as normal skin... because if you live on this planet you face the daily barrage of pollution and stress and  both will take a toll on your skin and hair... and all of this has an impact on your clothing especially if you live a large city and get caught in the rain...

Make sure your clothes are always clean and pressed and fit perfectly... it's the first thing people notice about you... the second thing is...

if you look tired... I've had people come up to me and say I look sad... nine times out of ten it's because did not get enough sleep the night before.... if you regularly do not get the amount of sleep you need (everyones needs are different) every night then it's going to take a major toll on your appearance. Sleep is your how your body recharges and heals it self.  I'm a big believer in the power of sleep... If you are tired... then take a nap. Listening to your body is one of the most important things you can do for yourself for your overall health and well being. You should always be getting enough enough rest in both sleep and down time  as well as eating the right foods and having a regular exercise regime; If you don't have enough sleep and exercise and get enough fresh air on a daily basis it really shows... but what shows the most is if you are unhappy... and here we are now charting territory that we can only map out for ourselves... but you have to look at the whole picture of your life... Is your career fulfilling you? Do you like where your live?... it's very important to take the steps necessary to generate the happiness you deserve and don't let anyone try to talk you out of it... and whatever you do don't settle for less... if you do this you will end up settling all the way down the line for the rest of your life... on the other hand it's very important to understand how to compromise at times without giving up or giving in completely.

Learning to be disciplined with your life and your choices may sound taxing but think of it in terms of being in control of your life and doing what is best for you ...

Whether it's exercise and physical activity and/or sex or diet and entertainment... every single thing in our life is vital to our happiness and all of it will be reflected in our outlook and the way we look to others.  It's also important to know that everything good and maybe not so good (like skipping the gym and having a second piece of cake) should be taken in moderation... if you stopped eating everything that was bad for you or doing everything that you shouldn't then  life would not be very much fun... I'm a big believer in being disciplined and in moderation but at the end of my life I'm going to be happy knowing that a few mornings I skipped the gym and watched reruns on television and had cake and ice cream for breakfast. The big take away here is you should understand is that discipline is finding the time to do all the things you should do but also the things you love to do... both will benefit your body and spirit.

Probably one of the best beauty secrets that I'm lucky enough to have in my life is love...

You can't buy, sell or send away for it and you can't find it... you can only hide from it. love finds you when you are ready to deal with the responsibility of giving and receiving it freely and without measure.

What you can do in the meantime is work on becoming the kind of person you are looking for and you are sure to find each other sooner rather than later.

Thank for reading... see you in two weeks... We are packing that LV carry on bag and heading to San Francisco.
